Umar Azad

Umar Azad is a final-year student at Harvard College pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Engineering. His research explores the role of community engagement in the engineering design process, with a focus on participatory action research. He partners with tribal communities, NGOs and non-profits in the Louisiana Gulf Coast to develop community-based environmental monitoring protocols and advance nature-based solutions for bioremediation, coastal resilience, and climate adaptation.
